Official

I can now officially announce that we are moving back to OC. Here's how it all happened:

We had all intentions of staying here for another year. I had started searching for daycare for Orin, Ryan had a great job, and I was sure I would get offered a contract for next year. However, God had different plans for us.

The day we left the hospital with Orin, Ryan received a call from his boss letting him know that the company was closing the end of March. Nine people, one of them being Ryan, lost their jobs. Bringing home your newborn son to start your new family isn't the most ideal situation to hear of this kind of news and reality. But I think we handled it really well considering the circumstances.

Ryan started searching for other possibilities. He interviewed for a job around here, and he was also in conversation with his brother about the construction business. He was offered the job here, and he was offered partnership in the construction business. We spent a lot of time in prayer and discussion on where we felt God was leading us.

Although we will be moving further from both of our parents, we decided to step out on faith and move to OC. We wanted to be closer to our family and friends there, as well as the coffee shop. Moving to OC offers a safe, Christian environment to raise Orin amongst our family and friends, which was really important to us.
Please be in prayer for us as we make this move. We are people who do not like change. Once we are settled and comfortable, we tend to stay put. Pray that we find a place to live and that we continue to seek God’s will in our lives.

I'm a little jealous. :) but I can't complain about what God has provided here. :)

I'm a ditto on Andrea's comment. I would LOVE for the cousins to grow up together! (sigh) But we'll be back in Omaha soon (if it's God's will) and that's not too far away. ;)
