So close!

We are getting so close to having this baby! Today, the doctor said I am well over 3 cm dilated and the head is way down there. She couldn't believe I haven't felt much pain. She doesn't think she will be seeing me next week for my 39 week appointment. I'm hoping she is right about that! I almost had her strip my membranes today, but I chickened out! I told her that if I haven't had the baby by my next appointment (next Thursday), then I will have her do it. Please pray for a safe delivery and healthy baby as the time gets closer.

38 Weeks

Saturday, my mom and grandma came up to help me stock our deep freeze full of frozen meals. We ended up with about 20 meals! I'm so grateful for their help! I look forward to pulling out ready-to-go meals and not having to face the dreaded question of, "What's for supper tonight?"

Ryan and I also got the carseat put in the car this weekend. We thought it would be a good time because of the nice weather and the fact that it isn't my week to drive to school.

Good news! My doctor was originally supposed to be gone all this week in order to spend her anniversary with her husband. However, I got a call today that they wanted to reschedule my appointment this week, because my doctor will be back for a few days due to a family emergency. So instead of seeing a new doctor on Thursday, I will get to see Dr. Olson!

37 Week Appointment

We went back to the doctor today for our weekly appointment. I am currently at 0 station, 2 centimeters dilated, and 80% effaced. I know I could walk around like that for the remaining 2.5 weeks, but I'm really hoping this early progress means the baby is coming soon! We are so anxious to meet our little one!

Doctor's Appointment

This is week 36. I finally got to see the doctor today after a 3 week hiatus. The baby is head down and around 7 pounds. I'm 50% effaced and 1 cm dilated. We have a long way to go, but I'm happy to hear my body has started the process. We'll continue to update you as the weeks dwindle away.

Holidays

We spent the majority of my two week holiday vacation traveling. We spent 4 days over Christmas with my family. We had a great time seeing everyone! It was so good to relax and enjoy time with my family playing games, watching Christmas movies, eating junk food, and seeing my grandparents and other relatives.

Over New Years, we spent 4 days with Ryan's family in OC and Omaha for Micah's baptism. The flu was passed among most all of us. Ryan's mom and I never did get sick, which we attribute to being teachers. For once the little germ machines came in handy. :)

It was so hard to come back to school this past week. I'm not sure if it is because of the pregnancy or if it is just that time of year with dreary winter weather. I have had a hard time getting back into the swing of things and staying motivated. However, I did spend much of the week planning and preparing for my long-term sub. I have a 9-page Sub Information packet for her as well as most copies made to get her through the 8-9 week period she will be in my room. I feel good about that.
