We have survived the move!! It has been 5 very long and hard days, but we have a house full of stuff and the U-Haul returned. Everywhere we look there are boxes that need to be unpacked, but we are making progress. Family was a huge help to my sanity. I really don’t think we could have done it without them. My parents and siblings came to help as well as Ryan’s parents and his brother and sister-in-law who live here in OC. It was quite the crew of people who worked like horses to get everything into the house and into the room where it belonged.
Thanks to Ryan’s brother and his wife (and his parents) for generously made meals for everyone Saturday night and Sunday. Ryan’s dad actually came and helped Thursday through Today. I can’t even put into words how much he did to help us. He made sure to use every inch of the U-Haul as he and Ryan loaded most of the large furniture. And once we got to OC, he helped unload the truck, he cleaned and organized the garage/shed, and he trimmed and groomed our landscaping/yard, as well as doing a million other odd jobs. In the midst of all the chaos, I did stop and think about how blessed we are to have so many people who love us so much that they would give of their time, energy, and strength to make our lives a little bit easier as we make this new transition.
