Moving Weekend

Well this is the weekend of the big move. Our house is covered with boxes, packing tape, permanent markers, fans, cleaning supplies, tubs, garbage bags, and lawn chairs being used for temporary furniture. We have actually accomplished a lot since I have been home 1 ½ days from school.

I finished yesterday at school. It was much more difficult than I thought it was going to be. I’m not usually an overly emotional person, but I sure was yesterday. It was really hard saying good-bye to my coworkers. We have been a very close knit group of ladies, and I will miss them greatly!

After I made it home from school, Ryan and I started the packing process. We didn’t accomplish much until we dropped Orin off to be babysat by a couple in our Bible Study. They are expecting in December, so we gave them some practice. During those few hours, we worked like busy little bees racing around the house trying to get a lot done in a small amount of time. I was surprised by how quickly things got done when we didn't have to stop and tend to a crabby baby during his fussy time of night. Thank you, Andy and Katy!!

Today, Ryan’s dad, Larry, came to help us pack. He cleaned and organized the garage while Ryan and I finished packing the office. The boys spent most of the day carrying packed boxes and large furniture to the garage so that it can be loaded onto the U-Haul tomorrow. We now have an empty office, empty basement and pantry, and very little living room furniture besides the recliner and lawn chairs.

I just hope and pray that we can get everything into one load. We definitely do not want to make an extra trip back to get stuff. Tomorrow will be another busy day. On the agenda: Kitchen, Orin’s Room, Laundry Room, and Our Bedroom.

I’m looking forward to being moved in and settled. This in-between is hard with an almost 4 month old.
