Well Ryan's birthday celebration is over for another year. Here’s a rundown of the day:
First of all, I took Ryan to Texas Roadhouse Saturday night for his birthday, which really wasn’t until Sunday. He debated between Olive Garden and Texas Roadhouse, but the sound of bread and ribs won out. We left Orin at Adam and Kim’s so we could have a peaceful and relaxing date night without having to worry about a 3 month old in tow. We also made trips to Best Buy to check out cameras and to Target to get house stuff.
Sunday, we tried out a church in town, and afterwards some friends invited us to lunch at their house. We went to college with them and they now have a daughter, Hazel, who is only two weeks older than Orin. It was fun to spend time with them! Maria and I even set up a walking date. We are going to walk everyday together with our kiddoes. We want the exercise and the accountability that comes with walking with someone else. Plus it will be tons of fun! Rain ruined our plans today, so we will start tomorrow!
After lunch, we got a few things done around the house and then took naps. Some friends of ours stopped by with a plate of cookies to welcome us to town. It is such a blessing to move to a town where we have so many friends already!
Ryan wanted pizza for his birthday supper, so we gobbled that down quick before racing off to a NBA finals party at some other friends’ house.
It was quite a packed day, but it was fun. Here are a few pictures of the birthday boy.
Orin and I made him a chocolate cake.
He got money for his birthday from his parents, my parents, his grandma, and my grandparents. He is very excited to buy himself an Xbox 360!
Orin and I gave him a GPS.
